Eligibility Criteria for Commonwealth Distance Learning Master’s Scholarships 2024

To be eligible to apply for this opportunity, the candidates are required to meet the criteria mentioned as under:

The applicants need to be citizens of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or they should be a British Protected Person.
They have to be permanent residents in any developing Commonwealth country.
They should possess a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. In certain cases, a lower qualification and sufficient related experience could be considered.
They should be unable to afford to study the programme without this Commonwealth scholarship.

Note: The IELTS requirement is not necessary for these scholarships. The CSC does not require the applicants to take an IELTS test. However, as a further condition of a scholarship, the universities may require the applicants to provide evidence of a specific level of English proficiency.

Selection Process of Commonwealth Scholarship 2024/2025

It is worth noting that each participating university in the United Kingdom will conduct its own recruitment procedure to select a specified number of applicants for these available distance learning scholarships. In early May 2024, the universities are required to put forward their chosen applicants to the CSC which will then confirm that these applicants fully meet the eligibility requirements. The universities will inform applicants of their results in July 2024.
