Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

You should note that if you have studied in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, or China in the last 5 years, you are not eligible for this scholarship programme. Previous beneficiaries of the Charles Wallace Awards are also not eligible to apply for this opportunity.

An ideal candidate for this fellowship programme should:

  • Be a national of Pakistan, residing in Pakistan.
  • Be aged between 30 to 55.
  • Show a written invitation (for the period of time applied for) from an arts body or the United Kingdom institution.
  • Normally possess a Ph.D. (doctoral) degree if proposing to do (undertake) research in a UK university.
  • Submit the application in the subject areas mentioned in eligible disciplines.

Financial Benefits Associated with the Award

  • If you are successful in gaining the award, you will receive a grant of £1,500 per month plus a contribution of the equivalent of £1,000 towards your visa and travel expenses.
  • The holders of the award are responsible for making all of their own arrangements in the United Kingdom including their accommodation in consultation with their host organizations.

How to Apply for The Charles Wallace Visiting Fellowship Programme

Interested candidates should complete the online application form. Once you retain a copy of your completed application form, you are required to email it to by Monday, 19 June 2023 coupled with your invitation letter and resume/CV including your photograph. Hard copy applications and applications which are incomplete will not be taken into consideration.

Those, who are short-listed, will be invited to an interview that will be held either online or in person in July 2023. Successful applicants will then be able to take up their scholarships/awards from September 2023 onwards.
