As far as The Junior Professional Associate (JPA) Program is concerned, it is a novel opportunity to get entry-level professional experience plus first-hand exposure to the challenges and rewards of international development. If you are a recent graduate and have a commitment and passion for helping others, this program is for you. This program is a 2 years entry-level work experience in a multicultural environment.
Once you are assigned a JPA role, you will use your strong quantitative and qualitative analytical expertise, your research abilities, and your technology knowledge. You will work with project teams and senior colleagues in their work both in corporate functions and operations.
You will be provided with an opportunity to sharpen your expertise and gain new ones while getting first-hand exposure to the challenges of lessening (reducing) poverty and boosting shared prosperity. The experience you gained as a JPA could be used as a stepping stone to a career in consulting, government, academia, the private sector, or other development agencies.

Ideal Candidates for the Junior Professional Associates Program

Academic achievements of the ideal candidates need to be superior and they should place them in the top portion of their graduating class. Their analytical and research skills need to extend to areas of specialization like finance, economics, human development (education, public health, population, nutrition), agriculture, social sciences (sociology, anthropology), environment (blue economy, climate), private sector development, infrastructure, as well as other relevant fields including corporate and administrative functions (legal, IT, accounting, communications, etc).
Applicants need to be fluent in English and preferably in at least one other language i.e., bank language (French, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, or Portuguese).

Eligibility Criteria for Junior Professional Associates JPA Program 2024
If you like to be considered, you need to meet the Junior Professional Associates JPA Program eligibility for the JPA program.
- You need to hold the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Your age should be 28 or younger on your first day of service.
- You must be proficient in English.
- If you are competent in one or more of the Bank’s working languages, it will be considered a plus such as Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Russian.
