A fellowship opportunity is offered by The Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation for exceptional young thinkers who would like to pursue a project that should be in a different subject area (field) from that of their previous research. The purpose of this fellowship is to provide support to those who, apart from producing exceptional work in their specialization field, are also open to other interdisciplinary approaches (following the set example of Albert Einstein).
- The age of the candidate should be under 35.
- The applicant should hold a university degree in the fields of social sciences, humanities, or natural sciences.
The applications for the 2024 academic year need to be included:
- Two letters of recommendations
- A two-page project proposal

Financial Benefits Associated with This Fellowship Program
- The Einstein fellowship offers living accommodations for the period of 5 to 6 months in the garden cottage of Einstein’s own summerhouse located in Caputh, Brandenburg which is only a short distance away from the academic institutions and universities of Potsdam and Berlin.
- The successful fellow also receives a stipend amounting to EUR 10,000.
- The fellow will also be offered reimbursement for his or her travel expenditures.
By the end of the fellowship period, the fellow will present his or her project in a public lecture to be taken place at the Einstein Forum and at the Wittenstein Foundation. This fellowship program is not targeted at those who would like to complete the academic study they have already started.
A successful application needs to show originality, quality, and feasibility of the proposed project in addition to the superior intellectual development of the candidate.
