Following the success of the Ilia Calderón Scholarship in the years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, One Young World and the Jang Calderón Family Foundation have joined hands to support young Afro-descendant and Indigenous leaders aged between 18 and 30, leading unique and impactful initiatives in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Under the Ilia Calderón Scholarship 2025, two Afro-descendant or Indigenous leaders will be chosen and funded to travel and participate in the One Young World 2025 Summit to be held in Munich, Germany. The event will be held from the 3rd to the 6th November 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for Ilia Calderón Scholarship 2025
Those who are interested in applying for this opportunity must be:
- Between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of the summit (One Young World Summit 2025) that is set to happen from 3rd to 6th November 2025 in Munich, Germany.
- From the eligible countries (eligible nationalities), which include Venezuela, Colombia, Haiti, Panama, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Mexico, Bahamas, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Cuba, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Bolivia, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Brazil.

The candidates should demonstrate their commitment and potential benefits for the territories and communities to which they belong.
- They must show relevance of the initiatives to which they lead or participate.
- They should have demonstrated leadership capacity.
- They need to address key global and/or local issues in their territories or communities.
- They must have a track record of generating innovative and impactful ideas.
- They should possess a motivation to participate in One Young World.
Financial Coverage Under One Young World 2025 Ilia Calderón Scholarship
- Successful candidates will receive access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.
- They will be provided with hotel accommodation in a private room between the period of 2nd to 6th November 2025.
- Successful candidates will be offered travel cost to and from Munich, Germany (economy class).
- They will also be provided with domestic travel expenses to the airport to take the international flight (economy class).
- They will also be offered transport between accommodation (summit accommodation) and the venue of the summit.
- Visa costs (if applicable) will be offered.
- Meals (catering) will also be offered that will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner to be provided by the hotel during the summit.
- Successful participants will be offered translation services from English language to Spanish language in the plenary sessions, welcome ceremony, and closing event.
