It is a platform that empowers youngsters to engage and contribute their ideas and solutions to the energy transition. Each year, the International Renewable Energy Agency organizes it. This year’s theme of the IRENA Youth Forum is ‘The New Generation of Decision Makers’.

This sixth IRENA Youth Forum – The New Generation of Decision Makers will start on 9th January 2025 and will last till 13th January 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the fifteenth session of the IRENA Assembly (11-13 January 2025). The agency’s ultimate decision-making authority is The Assembly where ministers, heads of state/government, and global stakeholders gather to meet and discuss advancing the energy transition.
This year’s youth forum – The 2025 IRENA Youth Forum will strengthen youth networks and the best part is that it will connect youngsters with global thought leaders, IRENA experts, and government representatives.

The event will be packed with a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and highly encourages applications from young people from SIDS and LDCs and developing countries. The series of interactive sessions will include thematic workshops, open dialogues, and participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the world energy discourse.

Eligibility Criteria for IRENA Youth Forum 2025
For the 15th Arena Assembly, interested youngsters should be between the ages of 16 to 35 years. They can submit their applications by completing the application form.

Funding Availability
Those who are chosen for the youth forum to be conducted in Abu Dhabi, UAE will receive full sponsorship including accommodation and travel. The funding will be provided for up to 35 participants.
Deadline for Application Submission
24th September 2024 (at midnight, Abu Dhabi local time) is the deadline for applications. Participants will be chosen based on their commitment to accelerating progress on the deployment of renewable energy. It is advised to apply as early as possible.
