The fellowship program provided highly qualified graduates from Central and Eastern European Countries with a massive opportunity to come and spend 6 months to 1 year in Germany to further their education in the field of environmental protection and nature conservation.

The goals behind the CEE Fellowship Program include:
- Furthering the qualification of university graduates from all fields/disciplines on topics related to the environment
- Transferring knowledge in administration, science, and practice
- Developing international networking between environmental experts from all disciplines
To apply for the fellowship program, the applicants must be university graduates from the participating countries and have a nationality of a participating country. They must be permanent resident in their home country. They must possess an above-average university degree (details of which can be found in the eligibility criteria) from one of the participating CEE countries. Remember, at the time of application submission, the degree must not have been conferred more than 5 years previously. PhD (doctoral) students are admitted to the CEE Fellowship in Germany as long as the doctoral project is not completed during the period of funding.
The topic should be environmentally related and practical (for the home country, globally, or Europe). The applicants must have a very good knowledge of English and/or German that is required. They need to have sufficient knowledge of German to be proven to the host institution at the beginning of their stay. As far as the host institutions are concerned, they will be universities, companies, research institutes, environmental and nature protection agencies, and NGOs in Germany, but the applicants are highly advised to get the updated information from the official website.

Eligibility Criteria for the CEE Fellowship in Germany
The Call for a Fellowship in Germany (CEE Fellowship) has now been announced. And for the candidates interested in applying need to meet the eligibility requirements if they like to apply.
- They must hold a master’s/diploma degree completed with above-average grades. It must be no more than five years ago
- All specialties are admitted
- The candidates must be nationals and residents of one of the CEE countries
- Their proposal must be environmentally relevant, and the topic should be practical
- They must possess sufficient knowledge of German, which needs to be proven to the host institution at the beginning of the stay
- It must be noted that doctoral students can apply to this fellowship as long as their doctoral project is not completed until after the fellowship program has been funded
Financial Coverage
Up to 50 fellowships are offered annually. Successful candidates will be provided with the following coverage:
- The funding period will be from 6 to 12 months
- They will receive €1350 per month
- They will receive accident, health, and liability insurance
- They will be offered an intensive German course in Osnabrück that will last for several weeks before the stay at the host institution
