AISG aims to nurture and train local AI talents to perform higher (advanced) fundamental AI research and produce modern and advanced AI algorithms, systems and models. Additionally, AISG also hopes that these exceptional talents will contribute to the other AI Singapore’s pillars, society, and the local AI ecosystem. The nominations for August 2025 are set to open in January 2025.

There will be a competitive stipend worth up to S$6,000 per month on top of other allowances and full tuition coverage, support will be up to 4 years of studies at Singapore-based Autonomous Universities (AUs).

Interested candidates who intend to pursue a full-time PhD and existing PhD candidates (have to be 2 years or less into a PhD programme) in Singapore-based Autonomous Universities.
Those who are interested in applying or the ones who are existing PhD candidates having an interest in AI fundamental research are strongly encouraged to apply for this AISG PhD Fellowship Programme.
Candidates or applicants who are Singaporean (Singapore citizens), Singapore permanent residents, or those from ASEAN countries are highly encouraged to apply.
