The focal or main topics of this fellowship program will be:
- Holistic security basics for journalists, media professionals, bloggers, and citizen journalists at risk.
- Operational security including security planning and risk assessments.
- For investigative journalists, there will be online identity management, including practical usage of anonymization tools and technical background.
- Secure online communication concepts, tools and technology, including secure online conferencing to take place for interviews.
- For media works, there will be password and account security and data protection on social platforms and other online accounts.
- There will be device security for mobile phones and computers of journalists at risk.

- Assisting with all visa-related issues (matters)
- Providing and paying for the accommodation (for an apartment) in Berlin for the entire duration of the program.
- The travel expenses
- Paying for health insurance and
- For the usage of public transportation in Berlin
- The grant i.e., a monthly allowance of 1000€ (per month)
